2025 Competitions
Force Options
The event will engage youth in making split-second decisions about whether the use of force is necessary and justified in various simulated scenarios. Participants will learn about different levels of force, when each is appropriate, and the legal and ethical implications of using force. This hands-on activity will emphasize critical thinking, decision-making under pressure, and understanding the balance between safety and restraint in real-world situations
Vehicle Contacts
In this hands-on event, youth participants will respond to a crash involving a reported impaired driver. They will learn to manage both the crash scene and the impaired driver, with their performance contributing to their total score. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests will not be conducted. Outcome will be determined based on totality of the circumstances.
Tactical Medical (TacMed)
Participants faced a scenario that tested their room-clearing and tactical medical skills. They practiced responding to a high-stress situation with provided medical equipment, ensuring they could deliver effective care while maintaining tactical awareness.
Crisis Intervention
This event emphasized strategies for handling individuals in crisis, focusing on mental health awareness and communication techniques. Officers learned to recognize signs of mental health issues and practiced de-escalation tactics to safely resolve situations involving vulnerable individuals.
Incident Command
In this tabletop scenario, youth participants assumed the role of shift Officer in Charge (OIC). They were tasked with balancing and prioritizing calls for service, managing resources, and simulating coordination with other agencies to effectively manage incidents.
Air Soft
This engaging event utilized airsoft weapons to simulate real-life scenarios for training purposes. Participants practiced tactical movements, teamwork, and engagement strategies in a controlled environment, enhancing their skills in a safe yet realistic setting.
